My name is Andrew Froude, and I live in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne Australia with my beautiful wife and two gorgeous children.
I was born in the deep South of New Zealand in a [very] little place called Tuatapere and was raised on a sheep, cattle and deer farm a bit further away in a place called Pukemaori.
I went Secondary School at Southland Boys High School in Invercargill and then completed a Diploma of Agriculture at Lincoln College just outside Christchurch New Zealand.
About two weeks after finishing my course I packed a suitcase and headed to Melbourne Australia for a 1-year working holiday, where I still live 30+ years later.
In the past 30 years, I have worked my way through many corporate positions, which is a far cry from my farming days, with local, national and international positions, some of which were very senior positions.
What I discovered along the way was:
- Corporate roles are not as great as many would think
- You are always at the beckon call of a boss, or a board of directors and shareholders, who may not necessarily have much of an idea of what they are doing
- Most job promotions lead to an increase in work hours
- Managing people is time-consuming and can often feel like social work
- The new generation of employees almost expect you to provide them with a living
- Honesty and Ethical behavior is not normal for some people
- Job satisfaction can be hard to achieve (if you know you are capable of more, even if you don’t know how to yet)
- By helping others you help yourself
Today I run a Consulting Business where I help individuals and businesses to take their great idea to market.
Until recently I had thought of myself as a Human Being, but in reality I am a ‘Human Becoming’.
I am always learning. The more I learn, the more I realise I don’t know.
Together we can make a difference.
